GRAND RAPIDS MARATHON FINISH!

[this is good]
Very cool! I'm definitely not a runner, but it's so cool that you did so well in your first marathon. Yay!
Thanks Cap'n! I was almost not going to run the race because of the problems I had with my left leg in training. But I already paid my entrance fee and wanted the T-Shirt so I thought I might as well do the run. It did eventually get me toward the end but I finished!
You're welcome! How are you doing now with it being over?

I feel fantastic for just running 26.2 miles! Yesterday I had appointments with my chiropractor and medical message therapist. They do wonders for lifting the spirits and soothing all those aches and pains.

I am a bit surprised how calm I am about finishing though. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy about finishing and my time but I'm feeling mostly relief from not having to train anymore. That was a very long and arduous task in and of itself. The race was nothing in comparison, which is the way it is supposed to be I guess.

Yeah, there are a couple of races around here that people really train for, so I see how that would take so much time. Good to know you're doing well post-race! I think if the race itself wasn't really that bad, you know you trained well for it

WOW! Huge kudos to you Matt!

That is something to be proud of. It sounds like your hard work paid off, not just in the finish itself, but in the positive feelings that the accomplishment gave you. Hope they stay with you for a long long time, you earned them!
